Star Wars: The Force Awakens Movie Review! (Spoiler-Free)

THIS IS A SPOILER-FREE REVIEW OF THE MOVIE. NO NEED TO FREAK OUT!

I WILL HAVE A SPOILER REVIEW AFTER THE NEW YEAR BECAUSE I’M NOT A DICK TO DO IT BEFORE.

THURSDAY NIGHT ON DECEMBER 17TH, MY LIFE WAS COMPLETED!

The return of the greatest story EVER told finally arrived.

Episode 7 takes place 30 years after Return of the Jedi. Luke has been missing and people are trying to locate him, both the good guys and the bad. Princess Leia, whose now General Leia, is the leader of the Resistance and sends someone to get a piece of information that may lead them to Luke.

Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) was sent to Jakku to retrieve a piece of the map of Luke’s location, with the help of his android friend BB-8.

It’s Star Wars, the original! I loved that! Jakku is then under attack and Poe sends BB-8 with the map to a safe location. Basically, anywhere but there! We then meet our new Darth Vader, Kylo Ren!

Poe tries shooting Kylo Ren and stops him with the force. The scene was amazing! It’s a more updated use of force then what we’re use to seeing and it’s badass! Kylo Ren then takes Poe prisoner but before he notices a stormtrooper standing around while the rest are slaughtering innocent people.

Rey (Daisy Ridley) is a scavenger from Jakku who crosses paths with BB-8. Rey reveals to BB-8 that she is waiting for her family to return for her. That is pretty much it! BB-8 tells her that he needs to return to his master, in other words Poe, and get the “secret mission to their base.”

Back at Starkiller base, a stormtrooper has a revelation. The stormtrooper is none other than John Boyega’s character Finn, who is later named by Poe. Boyega’s character is known as FN-2187 (that number is a reference to Episode 4, the cell Princess Leia was kept in) helps Poe escape and the two immediately form a bond.

John and Oscar did an amazing job in making us believe these two really connected, something that the prequels lacked. Poe and Finn managed to escape Starkiller base only to have their ship crash on…Jakku!

Poe and Finn get separated on the planet, which leads to Finn meeting Rey. Rey and Finn meet with her thinking Finn is a fellow Rebellion fighter. Rey and Finn are then inside the Millennium Falcon!

I dare anyone not to love this little guy! BB-8, an android who doesn’t speak a word have just a loving personality that you can not help but love him every time he’s on the screen!

We knew Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) were returning, as well as everyone else from the originals, and yet the audience went nuts! So, Han Solo and Chew enter the millennium falcon and meet Rey, Finn and BB-8.

They reveal that BB-8 has a piece of the map that may lead to finding Luke. I love this scene because Han, someone from the originals was so skeptic in the “Jedi mumbo jumbo” is now telling them that every story is true.

There are then chased, as usual, and Han’s takes them to Maz Kanata (Lupita Nyong’o) who can help getting BB-8 to the Resistance.

I have to say that Adam Driver as Kylo Ren was outstanding! He was something I wish we got to see in Anakin Skywalker before he turned into Darth Vader.

There is a scene that I’ll call “shits about to go down” that made me cheerful!

Star Wars is back and it’s come back better than ever before! I’ve seen it 3 times already and it just gets better! Sorry for the late post, but will the holidays and work, it was extremely difficult to write. Not to mention a spoiler free review!

I will have the spoiler review after the new year, as I said in the beginning of the review, so keep an eye out!
